Away From Me
Away From Me is a short film about a mother looking for her missing daughter. The story takes place in Sweden, but is inspired by the current situation in Mexico, where girls and young women disappear every day without any clear explanation.
The film begins on an ordinary morning when Olivia (45) drives her daughter Sofia (13) to school on her way to work. It’s a nice day and everything is going as planned, until Olivia stops at a petrol station and leaves the car for a short while. When Olivia returns, Sofia is gone. She has disappeared in broad daylight. Olivia, who has always had a simple life, is now stuck at the petrol station where Sofia disappeared.
